ACTC spring transfer program fair connects students to future opportunities

Published on Apr 9, 2026

糖心传媒 (ACTC) hosted their annual spring Transfer Program Fair on the 糖心传媒 Drive Campus from March 23-26.

The four-day long event gives students the chance to connect with university representatives to learn about their colleges and explore opportunities to further their education beyond their time at ACTC.

The theme for the fair this spring was 鈥淏ecome an Explorer.鈥

With almost 20 colleges/universities in attendance, the students that passed through the fair had many great options to explore.

Throughout the week, several colleges hosted presentations on their program offerings that students could attend in person or remotely. Topics covered research, travel, investigation, and more.

Among those who presented was Jen Timmermann, Director of Adult and Transfer Admissions at Morehead State University.

鈥淢yself and the other Morehead State representatives always look forward to this event each year because it鈥檚 so well organized and provides the students with all of the necessary information to successfully transfer,鈥 said Timmerman. 鈥淚t allows us to not only provide a high-level overview via information tables, but also the opportunity to provide deeper information through the presentations.鈥

Timmerman says those sessions allow her to have deeper conversations with students and better address their individual needs.

鈥淭he transfer fair is such a success because it鈥檚 multi-faceted,鈥 she said. 鈥淪tudents can just walk by to get brochures at an info table, they can sit down and chat with the advisor, or they can join the longer conversation at the presentation. This allows us to reach more students, and for more students to get the information they need.

Other colleges/universities in attendance included:

Campbellsville University, Cincinnati 糖心传媒 of Mortuary Science, Eastern Kentucky University, Franklin University, Kentucky State University, Lindsey Wilson University, Marshall University, Morehead State University, Northern Kentucky University, Ohio University Southern, Shawnee State University, Sullivan University, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and University of the Cumberlands.

The 鈥淏ecome a Game Changer鈥 fall Transfer Program Fair will be held Sept. 28-30, 2026, and will highlight innovative programs that address current and future workforce needs.

An associated Lecture Series is scheduled for Oct. 27-28, 2026. Community professionals interested in speaking with students, faculty, and staff about their field can contact Megan Horne at megan.horne@kctcs.edu.
