ACTC student elected president of state honors organization
March 24, 2026
ASHLAND, Ky. 鈥 糖心传媒 (ACTC) student Kyli Springer has been elected president of the Kentucky Region of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK), representing community college students across the state.
Springer was elected during the Kentucky Regional PTK Spring Conference held in February at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical 糖心传媒 in Bowling Green.
In her role as Regional President, she will lead statewide initiatives, collaborate with fellow regional officers, support PTK chapters across Kentucky, and promote the organization鈥檚 mission of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.
Springer is currently completing her Associate of Applied Science in Medical Information Technology (MIT) at ACTC. She is actively involved on campus, serving as a peer mentor and tutor in the Student Support Services office and as current President of ACTC鈥檚 Phi Theta Kappa chapter, where she has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to student success.
鈥淚 decided to run for PTK Kentucky regional office because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone,鈥 Springer said. I have already learned so much about leadership being our ACTC chapter president, and I wanted to apply those skills on a larger scale. I鈥檝e never been very good at public speaking and running for regional office was like jumping into the deep end.鈥
She added, 鈥淚鈥檓 a little bit nervous but I鈥檓 mostly excited to see where this opportunity will take me. Leading our chapter has given my academic career a sense of purpose outside of myself. I look forward to working with my fellow regional officers to serve all the chapters of Kentucky as president.鈥
After completing her studies at ACTC this May, Springer plans to transfer to Western Kentucky University to pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Health Information Management.
She credits her involvement in PTK with helping her build confidence, leadership ability, and communication skills that will support her future academic and professional goals.
鈥淭he hands-on experience PTK has given me with leadership and communication has helped me learn skills that I will take with me to WKU and into my career,鈥 Springer said.
Springer鈥檚 election reflects her dedication to personal growth, academic excellence, and service to others.
As regional president, she will serve as a voice for students across Kentucky and continue to inspire others to pursue leadership opportunities and achieve their goals.
